Operational Support Services Division - Motorcycle Wing

The Motorcycle Wing is based at the SFPD Operations Complex, West Haven, West Renishaw, Sierra Falls.

The Motorcycle Wing provides support to uniform patrol by enforcing road traffic law and providing a visible police presence on the main roads throughout the area. The unit comes unit the command of the Highway Policing Team and it's officers have specialist skills in relation to motor vehicles enabling them to deal with more in-depth offences than uniform divisional staff.

Motorcycle Wing officers also respond to, and investigate, serious and fatal road traffic collisions in accordance with Sierra Falls Police Department policy.

Motorcycle Wing operate Harley Davidson and BMW 1000cc motorcycles fully equipped with lights and sirens and marked in Police Department colours. They also have a range of equipment to enable them to deal with offenders, including an onboard video recorder and the ProVida speed calculation system. The bikes are also each equipped with ProLaser Speed Enforcement equipment.
